+ Jim Carrey will star in the dark comedy I Love You Phillip Morris.
Based on true events, it's a man-goes-to-prison, man-meets-cellmate,
man-falls-in-love-with-cell-mate tale. Says producer Andrew Lazar, ''It's
Don Quixote-like: It has this sense of whimsy, but at the same time,
it's a genuine relationship.''
+ In an awesome comedy convergence, Jack Black and Michael Cera (Arrested Development) will star in Harold Ramis' Year One produced by Judd Apatow (Knocked Up) and scripted by current Office writers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg. ''It's 3000 B.C.,'' explains Stupnitsky, ''and Black plays the lazy hunter-gatherer [who] becomes the first modern man.''
+ Songstress Ciara is ready to pull a Beyoncé and cross over into film. She'll play an R&B artist in an adaptation of the musical Mama, I Want to Sing! ''Her mother [Lynn Whitfield] is an evangelist preacher,'' says producer Jeff Clanagan. ''They drift apart [and] ultimately reconcile.''
