'View'-ing the Competition

Who should replace Rosie O’Donnell and Star Jones -- Our take on recent ''View'' guest cohosts

Who should replace Rosie O’Donnell and Star Jones

LORRAINE BRACCO

Stats
Emmy-nominated for her work as the tough Dr. Melfi on The Sopranos.
Smarts
Bracco held her own with the chatty girls — until she unconvincingly compared Paris Hilton to Madonna. Um, no.
Sanity
No nuttiness here, although she could still be a Rosie-level button pusher.
Star Quality
Some, but she's a bit too abrasive, and we already have an East Coast loudmouth (hi, Joy!).
Grade: B+

GOLDIE HAWN

Stats
Academy Award-winning and perpetually bubbly star of films like 1980's Private Benjamin.
Smarts
Well-informed when discussing menopause, less so when talking about politics. That could be a problem.
Sanity
A bit kooky (in a good way).
Star Quality
There's no question the gal has charm, but Hawn seems a tad delicate for The View's fierce on-air battles.
Grade: B-

SHERRI SHEPHERD

Stats
Stand-up comedian best known for her role as Sara Rue's pal on ABC's Less Than Perfect.
Smarts
The quick-witted Shepherd is fairly conservative, which could provide Elisabeth with a much-needed ally.
Sanity
Hmm...she proclaimed that she wanted to kill her philandering husband and asserted that evolution is a crock.
Star Quality
However, the lady does make us laugh!
Grade: A-
