WHY HER The actress recently won over Sundance audiences with her turn as a lonely single gal in Zoe Cassavetes' Broken English. This fall, she stars in Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino's new Fox sitcom, The Return of Jezebel James.
ENGLISH LESSONS ''It's rare that I'm [offered] love stories. When I read Broken English, I was so happy it wasn't overtly sentimental. Like, no one has makeup smeared on their face, running down hallways.''
LOOSENING UP After 16 years in the business, Posey says she's mellowed: ''In my 20s, I was just so intense, always wondering, 'Will I get another job?!' I was born premature, I'm sure that has something to do with it, just fighting for my life.'' But she's given up on fighting for mega-stardom. ''I don't play the game. I can't. I've done Hollywood movies and I see how toxic it can be.''
