Says actual astronaut David Scott in a DVD extra, ''In real terms, that'd be very difficult to do.'' Oh, really? Your own tolerance for studied heartland whimsy will determine whether The Astronaut Farmer lifts off for you, but the film's off-kilter idealism stands to delight smart tweens and teens.
