Untitled (2007)

Details Release Date: Jul 31, 2007; Lead Performance: Korn; Genre: Rock

Ah, the '90s nü-metal scene: dreadlocked singers, misogynistic scream-raps, clanky bass lines. Yes, Korn are guilty as charged. This perhaps was not lost on the band, which released an Unplugged CD in March and briefly sought the help of producing trio the Matrix (Avril Lavigne) for this intentionally untitled album. Still, diehards can chill knowing the bulk of Korn's 12th release — their best since 1999's Issues — continues to probe all things loud and sludgy. It's also testament to their enduring philosophy that you can't spell rawk without the raw. B+
