Underground Kingz (2007)

Details Release Date: Aug 07, 2007; Lead Performance: UGK; Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

The duo that bolstered Jay-Z's ''Big Pimpin''' has charisma to spare — even on this 29-track double disc (Underground Kingz), which features superstars (T.I.), living legends (Scarface), and surprises (Dizzee Rascal). True, it's OutKast's lyricism and Three 6 Mafia's soulful sampling that make ''Int'l Player's Anthem (I Choose You)'' a possible Song of the Year — but eight albums over two decades are no fluke. On the raunchy ''Like That'' and the funk-driven ''The Game Belongs to Me,'' UGK show enough swagger to rightfully claim their throne. B+
