John Cusack plumbs the warmer, fuzzier side of the paranormal in this romantic drama as David, a recently widowed sci-fi author who adopts a young boy named Dennis (Bobby Coleman). ''[Dennis] has an intense fantasy life,'' says Cusack, who reunited with director Menno Meyjes (2002's Max) for the movie. ''He thinks he's from another planet.'' And as father and adopted son bond — you knew this was coming — David starts to suspect Dennis may be telling the truth. (Oct. 26)
