Prison Break

Prospects for Prison Break's second season seemed as dim as those for Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and his band of escaped convicts. The split story lines — spotlighting smaller characters like C-Note and Abruzzi — were initially frustrating, yet on second viewing, the Fox drama plays criminally well. EXTRAS Eleven episode commentaries prove surprisingly funny. Exec producer Matt Olmstead referencing T-Bag's cooler-contained severed hand by singing ''It's my hand in the box'' to the tune of SNL's ''D--- in a Box''? Genius. A-
