Independent's Day

EW's GRADE
C+

This purported insider's view of goings-on at the Sundance Film Festival — produced, tellingly, by the Sundance Channel — is 54 jump-cutting minutes of sound bites and clips. In Independent's Day filmmakers spout cliches about commercial failure and artistic striving while romanticizing the excitement of it all. Director Marina Zenovich only occasionally finds a story (like Steven Soderbergh and Greg Mottola reliving the frustration of selling Mottola's The Daytrippers), and the finest moment finds darling Parker Posey shouting at a traffic cop. C+
