The best-selling roman ࠣá clef from Tinseltown doyenne Gigi Levangie Grazer stumbled onto TV less than four months ago as a stagy, stagnant mini-series. This rush-job DVD doesn't right any wrongs for The Starter Wife. The plot — a jilted Hollywood wife (Debra Messing) attempts life after marriage — lurches from murder mystery to farce, while burying a cast of pros (including a hammy, Kabuki-faced Judy Davis) under one-note characters. EXTRAS None, unless you count the ability to fast-forward through the embarrassing movie spoofs that open each episode. D+
