Let's Stay Friends is the first studio album from the NYC noisemakers in six years.
Welcome back, dudes! ''This band's a beating heart/And it's nowhere near
its end,'' vocalist Tim Harrington yelps on ''Pots & Pans,'' the rousing,
reassuring opener. The rest of the CD while not quite up to the best of
their killer 2004 singles compilation, Inches vrooms along to the tune
of Les Savy Fav's unique stinging-guitar sound: It's typically loud yet
occasionally playful. The group is malevolent and charming at once,
still a beguiling combo.
