Let's Stay Friends is the first studio album from the NYC noisemakers in six years. Welcome back, dudes! ''This band's a beating heart/And it's nowhere near its end,'' vocalist Tim Harrington yelps on ''Pots & Pans,'' the rousing, reassuring opener. The rest of the CD — while not quite up to the best of their killer 2004 singles compilation, Inches — vrooms along to the tune of Les Savy Fav's unique stinging-guitar sound: It's typically loud yet occasionally playful. The group is malevolent and charming at once, still a beguiling combo.
