How's this for an ironic twist: The CD that inspired 2007's hottest
pre-release debate has turned out to be one of the year's least
remarkable. 50 Cent's third solo effort goes through the familiar
commercial-rap motions knee-jerk threats of violence, the icky
objectification of women with more zest than anything he's released
since his 2003 debut. Still, 50's lost any trace of artistic ambition,
any interest in originality. In the end, Curtis is nothing more or less
than a competent corporate product. B-
