This U.K. act's acclaimed '05 debut was like nothing else listeners had
ever heard: giddy, lo-fi collages of brass fanfare, playground-style
rap, and squealing guitars. Two years later, however, the Go! Team's
once-unique formula has grown stale. This follow-up hits the same marks
as the band's first CD, with the only notable addition being an
inexplicable Chuck D cameo. That's not necessarily a bad thing Proof of Youth will delight newcomers to The Go! Team but it's a shame the group's sound is
already stuck on repeat. B
