The only thing more tired than a tarted-up movie about junkie codependence starring attractive performers emoting junkie-like is a tarted-up movie about losers in an all-night diner. Broken combines both clichés. Heather Graham plays Hope, a wide-eyed innocent in L.A. who dreams of musical stardom but gets by as a waitress; Jeremy Sisto is Will, the bad boy who hooks her in with really terrible dialogue and a needle. (Will + Hope = deep!) Is that really Linda Hamilton in a booth as a madam who tries to recruit Hope, hopelessly? Why yes, I'm afraid it is.
