James Naughton: Street of Dreams

Guys just don't come any more suave than Naughton, a two-time Tony winner (City of Angels, Chicago) who, with the help of pal and ''presenter'' Mike Nichols, has remounted his one-man evening of cool tunes and cooler patter. His ultrasmooth baritone slides as easily into ''Are You Lonesome Tonight?'' as it does ''Pennies From Heaven,'' but the highlight of the 90-minute showcase is a one-two punch of Randy Newman songs (''Real Emotional Girl'' and ''My Life Is Good''). And through it all — for better or worse — Naughton never breaks a sweat. A-
