No World for Tomorrow (2007)

EW's GRADE
B

Details Release Date: Oct 23, 2007; Lead Performance: Coheed and Cambria; Genre: Rock

Forget about concept albums — these proggers deal in concept oeuvres. No World for Tomorrow is the fourth in a projected five-CD series with an epic sci-fi story line by singer-guitarist Claudio Sanchez. That said, Coheed & Cambria aren't as nerdy — or their compositions as daunting — as this makes them sound. Like Rush, to whom they're often compared, C&C infuse their expansive music with enough grit and melody that you really don't give a hoot what, say, ''The Hound (Of Blood and Rank)'' is ''about.'' You just grok the way it rocks. B
