'Road' Trips

A Tale of Two Titles -- We tell you the difference between ''Revolutionary Road'' and ''Reservation Road''

When Revolutionary Road hits theaters next year, people may be hit with a mild case of déjà vu. The movie, a drama from director Sam Mendes, follows a troubled couple (Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet) in suburban Connecticut in the '50s, while Reservation follows two troubled couples in present-day Connecticut. Both movies are adapted from novels. Reservation producer Nick Wechsler says, ''Ours is very visceral: What happens when your son gets killed in an accident, and what if you're the person who hit the kid? By the time they start marketing [Revolutionary], people will be fresh into a new idea.'' (The Good German and The Good Shepherd opened one week apart.) Damon Wolf, CEO of L.A. ad agency Crew Creative, agrees, adding the key lies in ''their artwork and title treatments.''
