The recently reunited Spice Girls revealed on Oct. 16 that their

AUCTION
On Oct. 16, Sotheby's New York announced it will put the 1941
screenwriting Oscar won by Orson Welles for Citizen Kane on the block Dec. 11. The statue currently belongs to the Dax Foundation, a nonprofit
that plans to use the projected $1.2 million for charitable causes.
COURTS
Britney Spears, 25, reportedly regained visitation rights with sons
Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1, on Oct. 19 in L.A. Two days earlier she had
lost all visitation rights after not complying with unspecified court
demands. The kids will continue to live with Spears' ex Kevin Federline,
29.... Actor Anthony Hopkins, 69, is asking an arbitrator to order
production company Merchant Ivory, which made Hopkins' films Howards End and The Remains of the Day, to pay him $750,000. He claims they owe him
the money for his work in the upcoming drama The City of Your Final
Destination.... Amy Winehouse, 24, was arrested on Oct. 18 for
possession of marijuana in Norway. The English vocalist, currently on a
European tour, was jailed for nearly 12 hours and fined 500 euros
($712). Her reps did not return calls for comment.
AILING
On Oct. 23, a rep for Robert Goulet, 73, confirmed that the performer is in critical condition with lung complications. The Broadway vet was
diagnosed with interstitial pulmonary fibrosis on Sept. 30 in Las Vegas
and is currently awaiting a lung transplant in an L.A. hospital.
RECOVERING
Two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning author Norman Mailer (The Executioner's
Song), 84, underwent surgery on Oct. 4 in NYC to remove scar tissue from
his lung. A rep for Mailer, who at press time was still in the hospital,
says that the author is ''doing well.''... On Oct. 18, actor John Goodman (Evan Almighty), 55, revealed that he's completed voluntary treatment
for an undisclosed addiction.
DEATHS
Pop and jazz singer Teresa Brewer, 76, who topped the charts in the '50s
with hits like ''Music! Music! Music!,'' of a neuromuscular disease, Oct.

Waffle Battery
Kid Rock (né Robert Ritchie), 36, and five members of his entourage were
arrested for assault after a sold-out show on Oct. 21 in Atlanta. Police
say the singer was involved in a brawl with a male customer at a Waffle
House early Sunday morning. Rock, whose reps did not return calls for
comment, was released on bond after 12 hours in jail. Adam Markovitz
