Details Release Date: Nov 06, 2007; Writer: David Thewlis; Genres: Fiction, Mystery and Thriller; Publisher: Simon & Schuster

A London patiner's midlife crisis leads to adultery, homicide, and the purchase of an odious beige settee.

Art Imitates Life?
Like David Thewlis (known to Potterphiles as Professor Lupin), Kipling hails from Blackpool and has achieved a modicum of fame for his work.

Bottom Line
The Late Hector Kipling has humor and style to burn. But a last-act plunge into surreal violence is almost as unfortunate for the book's readers as for its characters, whose corpses pile up at an alarming rate. B-
