If you're looking to show off your new subwoofers, try Josh Turner's third
studio album. His baritone can dip so low that it might count as stunt
singing if it didn't sound so dang natural. A slightly tense R&B-ballad
duet with Anthony Hamilton notwithstanding, Everything is Fine delivers the kind of infectious lazy-Southern-Sunday romanticism that makes the title feel
like an understatement. Nice that he's doing more writing, too, though
he should have picked a gospel cover over his own ''The Way He Was
Raised,'' possibly the corniest Jesus song ever written.
