''I ain't a hypocrite,'' Philadelphia's Barry Adrian Reese declares on his third disc, B.A.R.S.. So what is he? ''I'm an innocent man!'' he says — two tracks after warning a rival, ''I call my gat acrobat, 'cause it'll f---in' flip you.'' So much for honesty. Still, there's something to be said for an emcee who's at home both on bangers (produced by Swizz Beatz) and a soulful reverie (from Devo Springsteen). As long as he keeps hurling syllables with this much gusto, Reese can contradict himself all he likes. B+
