singer and her husband, music exec Jordan Bratman, 30.... Food Network
host Giada De Laurentiis, 37, and husband Todd Thompson, 43, are

Actress Milla Jovovich, 31, and fiancé Paul Anderson, 42, are new
parents to daughter Ever Gabo, born on Nov. 3 in L.A. They met on 2002's
Resident Evil, which Anderson directed.... Actor Mark Ruffalo
(Reservation Road), 39, and wife Sunrise Coigney, 34, added a daughter

SPLITS
After 34 years of marriage, Deborah Santana, 56, the wife of Carlos
Santana, 60, filed for divorce from the rock guitarist on Oct. 19 in
Marin County, Calif.... 'Til Death star Brad Garrett, 46, and wife Jill
Diven, 42, are officially divorced as of Nov. 2. The pair, who wed in
1999, will share custody of their two children.... Actors Dermot
Mulroney (Zodiac), 44, and Catherine Keener (The 40 Year-Old Virgin),
48, finalized their split on Oct. 30 in L.A. The couple, who have an
8-year-old son, separated in 2005 after nearly 15 years of marriage.
PROMOTED
On Nov. 5, Time Warner (parent company of EW's publisher, Time Inc.)
announced that president and COO Jeffrey Bewkes, 55, would become CEO on
Jan. 1; current CEO Richard Parsons, 59, will stay on as chairman.
Previously, Bewkes spent seven years as head of HBO, shepherding hit
programs like The Sopranos, Sex and the City, and Six Feet Under.
AILING
On Nov. 6, Grammy winner Rosanne Cash, 52, announced that she will
interrupt her tour to undergo brain surgery in NYC for a ''rare but
benign condition.'' The singer-songwriter is expected to make a full
recovery and plans to resume her concerts next spring.
DROPPED
Phil Hall, the spokesman for Dancing With the Stars' Heather Mills (Paul
McCartney's ex), 39, quit on Oct. 29 because Mills made the TV talk-show
rounds, claiming that the media branded her a ''whore.''
ARRESTED
Shia LaBeouf, 21, (Transformers) was apprehended for allegedly refusing
to leave a Chicago drugstore on Nov. 4. The actor, who is shooting a
movie in the city, posted bond the same day and is expected to appear in
court on Nov. 28 to face a misdemeanor charge of trespassing. His rep
did not return calls for comment.
COURTS
On Oct. 31 in L.A., former Prison Break actor Lane Garrison, 27, was
sentenced to 40 months in prison for his involvement in a December 2006
car accident that killed a teenage boy and injured two teenage girls.
The actor, who pleaded guilty in May to charges of vehicular
manslaughter and DUI, was also ordered to pay more than $300,000 to the
victims' families.... On Nov. 6, an L.A. judge ordered Britney Spears,
25, to pay $120,000 in legal fees incurred by ex-hubby Kevin Federline, 29, during the couple's ongoing battle over custody of sons Sean, 2, and
Jayden, 1. Court documents cite the ''notable disparity between the
parties' incomes'' and the fact that much of the litigation ''deals with
[Spears'] conduct.'' In other Britney news, ex-manager Johnny Wright, 47,
sued the singer for back commission on Oct. 29 in Orlando. Wright, who
worked with Spears from 1999 to 2003, claims she owes him for
multimillion-dollar deals made during that period. Her reps did not
return calls for comment.... Rapper Da Brat (née Shawntae Harris), 33,
was arrested for aggravated assault on Oct. 31 in an Atlanta-area
nightclub. According to police, the former Celebrity Fit Club-er struck
a waitress in the face with a liquor bottle. (The server was
hospitalized for her injuries.) Harris' rep did not return calls for
comment.
DEATHS
George Osmond, 90, father of nine (including Donny and Marie) and
original manager of the '70s singing group the Osmonds, of natural
causes, Nov. 6, in Provo, Utah. Additional reporting by Stewart Allen

After announcing his candidacy on Oct. 16, Stephen Colbert was voted off
the presidential primary ballot in his home state of South Carolina on
Nov. 1 by Democratic Party officials. Said the Colbert Report host,
whose Comedy Central show is among the first casualties of the writers'
strike: ''I am going off the air until I can talk about this without

This Dog Won't Have His Day
Duane ''Dog'' Chapman may be off the hook for kidnapping, but he's still
off the air. Though the Dog the Bounty Hunter star, 54, will not be
extradited to Mexico where, in 2003, he ''hunted'' a convicted
rapist production on his A&E reality series has been suspended
indefinitely. On Oct. 31, the National Enquirer's website posted audio
clips of a taped phone call in which Chapman used racist language to
describe his son's girlfriend. He apologized in a statement, saying ''I
