Release Date: Nov 06, 2007; Lead Performance: Gram Parsons; Genres: Country/Bluegrass, Rock

Discovered two years ago in a secret vault, Live at the Avalon Ballroom 1969, a two-CD live set features Parsons, the late country-rock trailblazer, at his prime. Newbies can enjoy pristinely preserved favorites like ''Sin City'' and ''Hot Burrito #1,'' as diehards go gaga over newly uncovered material, including an acid-trippy version of Mel Tillis' ''(Sweet) Mental Revenge.'' Heck, for enthusiasts, the bonus track alone — a sparse demo of ''Thousand Dollar Wedding'' — was worth the 38-year wait. B+
