Why ''Golden'' rocks
In an indie wilderness populated with like-named acts (Panda Bear, Grizzly Bear, Minus the Bear), we'll gladly share our pic-a-nic basket with Bear Hands, an unsigned foursome from Brooklyn. Golden their inaugural, self-released EP finds the band melding together indie rock and post-punk on songs like ''Long Lean Queen,'' a punchy anthem propelled by atonal vocals and persistent percussion. Judging from these four tracks, this young Bear is already exhibiting survival skills.
