Playwright Martin McDonagh's feature directorial debut, In Bruges, has been set to kick-off next year's Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 17. The movie stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson (Beowulf, Harry Potter) as two hit men forced to take a vacation in Bruges, Belgium. Focus Features will release the movie on Feb. 8. McDonagh has won Olivier Awards for his plays The Lieutenant of Inishmore and The Pillowman and received Tony nominations for Inishmore, Pillowman, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, and The Lonesome West. McDonagh also won an Oscar in 2006 for his first film, the live-action short Six Shooter. (Variety)
