'Mean Girls' Director Tapped for 'Seven'

Mark Waters, director of the 2004 Lindsay Lohan/Tina Fey comedy Mean Girls, has been tapped to helm Universal Pictures' Seven Days, a comedy-drama written by novelist Joshua Ferris. The movie chronicles seven pivotal days in a man's life. It is split into segments, each starting with the man waking up on one of those days. Ferris was a National Book Award Finalist for his novel Then We Came to an End. He signed his contract for Seven before the WGA strike started, but will wait until it concludes before finalizing the script. Waters, whose other credits include Freaky Friday and Just Like Heaven, will next direct New Line's The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, which stars Jennifer Garner and Matthew McConaughey.
