It's been a while since we've heard from Shaggy. The Jamaican-born singer didn't go away, exactly: America simply turned its appetite for Caribbean rhythms to younger artists like Rihanna and Sean Paul. On his eighth full-length, Intoxication the dancehall superstar famous for his bone-deep James Earl Jones vocals and libidinous jams gets solid contributions from Rik Rok (his collaborator on the 2001 smash ''It Wasn't Me'') and Akon. Still, his best tune is an amigo-free onethe spare, glitchy title track. Gotta give the old dog credit for new tricks. B
