Samuel L. Jackson has been tapped to star in New Line Cinema's
The Man That Rocks the Cradle. He will play a live-in nanny, hired by an overworked husband and father of four, with a reputation as a ''kid whisperer.'' The movie marks Jackson's first starring vehicle since his Uppity Films struck a deal with New Line. The actor will also produce
Cradle with Michael Nash through Uppity. Jackson is coming off
1408 and
Resurrecting the Champ, and is now in production on the Frank Miller-directed
The Spirit. He recently wrapped Doug Liman's
Jumper, Neil LaBute's
Lakeview Terrace, and the Jon Favreau-helmed
Iron Man. (
