The Scene: Seven Days in Entertainment

Last week's biggest events including the premiere of ''The Golden Compass,'' Emily Blunt in ''The Young Victoria,'' and more

With Thanksgiving jump-starting the holiday season, Hollywood came together as one big, sorta happy family: Indie movie luminaries gathered in New York City for the 17th Annual Gotham Awards. Stars banded together online in (silent) support of the ongoing writers' strike. And Liz Lemon's family converged for what's sure to be a classic holiday episode of NBC's 30 Rock. Two words: matching sweaters.

A Lemon Mixer
Tina Fey films 30 Rock's Christmas episode (airing Dec. 13). Guest stars include Anita Gillette, Buck Henry, and Andy Richter.

Fit for a Queen
She's got the look: Emily Blunt gives a spot-on ''That's all'' glare in her upcoming film The Young Victoria, out next year. Lamenting the queen-size challenges of her wardrobe she says: ''I hate the corset. Over it. So over it.... [The costumes] are beautiful, but if one more person steps on my train, I might swing some punches.''

Web Obsession of the Week
Looking to see who is (we mean isn't) speaking up for Hollywood's scribes? Check out the ''Speechless'' clips where script-less television and movie actors flub, ''blah blah,'' or, in the case of Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy, whistle their way through faux scenes in support of striking writers. (www.deadlinehollywooddaily.com)

Fire and Ice
Yes, Nicole, all parties are A-OK with your look. Despite The Golden Compass' icy premise, Kidman set the red carpet ablaze at its world premiere in London on Nov. 27.

Smack Talk
The Gossip Girl plot we're all loving: the continued coziness between Serena (Blake Lively) and Dan (Penn Badgley), who filmed a steamy smooch in New York City for The CW's drama.

Paging Johnny Cash
Awards season officially launched Nov. 27 at the 17th Annual Gotham Awards in Brooklyn, where No Country for Old Men star Javier Bardem was a Gotham Tribute honoree. When asked about his Hulk-inspired follicular stylings in the film he replied, ''What am I supposed to tell you about the haircut? I thought it was a very good idea and it very much developed the character.''
