Reese Witherspoon came out on top in Hollywood Reporter's annual list of best-paid actresses. Even though her last film, Rendition, which also starred Jake Gyllenhaal and Meryl Streep, was considered a box office disappointment, the 31-year-old Witherspoon still commands some $15-$20 million per movie. Coming in at No. 2 is Angelina Jolie, also listed at $15-$20 million per movie, followed by No. 3 Cameron Diaz, ballooned by an enormous pay check for her role in Shrek the Third, at $15+ million per film. Nicole Kidman ($10-$15 million) and Renee Zellwegger ($10-$15 million) round out the top five. The Reporter notes that the big news this year is not the huge paychecks but the fact that Hollywood's big-name actresses are willing to accept less money to fill their schedules. Jolie took just $8 million for a small role in Beowulf, for example, and Witherspoon reportedly took less than her usual $15 million to appear in Rendition. The best-paid actresses list appears in Hollywood Reporter's ''Women in Entertainment: Power 100'' issue, which hits stands Tuesday (Dec. 4).
