Amy Sedaris (Strangers With Candy) and SNL alum Chris Kattan have been tapped for the indie feature Tanner Hall, which is being directed by Tatania von Furstenberg (daughter of fashion designer Diane con Furstenberg) and Francesca Gregorini (daughter of Barbara Bach and step-daughter of Ringo Starr) from their own script. The writer-directors met at Brown University and originally set up Tanner as a TV pilot pitch based on their experiences at boarding schools. UPN picked up the pilot but it fell through the cracks during the UPN-WB merger (which created the CW network) and was never actually put into production. The duo went back and reworked the pilot to turn it into a feature. It is currently being shot in Rhode Island on a budget of less than $10 million. Sedaris and Kattan join a cast that also includes Tom Everett Scott (The Street, Saved), Tricia Mara (Urban Legends: Bloody Mary), Brie Larson (Hoot), Georgia King (Wild Child), Amy Ferguson (Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story), and Shawn Pyfrom (Desperate Housewives).
