Kiefer Sutherland was sentenced to 48 days in jail on Wednesday (Dec. 5) after a drunken-driving arrest in September, his second in three years. The actor immediately reported to lock-up to begin his sentence at the Glendale city jail. Sutherland was already on probation for a 2004 drunken-driving arrest when he was stopped by police on Sept. 25, leaving a Hollywood industry party. He failed a field sobriety test after being pulled over for making an illegal U-turn and later pleaded no contest to having a blood alcohol content over the 0.08 legal limit.

In addition to his 48-day jail sentence, Sutherland has also been placed on five years' probation, and ordered to pay a $510 fine, enroll in an 18-month alcohol-education class, and attend weekly alcohol-therapy sessions for six months. His incarceration is not expected to conflict with his shooting of the next season of 24. (AP via Yahoo!)
