This weekend, NBC will begin airing 90-minute ''Best of'' Saturday Night Live compilations scheduled to run as a regular primetime series. The shows will start airing this Saturday (Dec. 8) from 9:30-11 p.m. with additional segments slated for Dec. 15, Dec. 22, and Dec. 29. If those four shows are successful, NBC could continue to run the series as a lead-in for the regular 11:30 p.m. live broadcast, which is currently on hold because of the writers' strike. The four scheduled ''best-of'' shows are ''The Best of Will Ferrell'' (Dec. 8), ''The Best of Chris Farley'' (Dec. 15), ''The Best of 2006-07'' (Dec. 22), and ''SNL Goes Commercial'' (Dec. 29).
