Hunt's Directorial Debut Opening Palm Springs

Helen Hunt directed, co-wrote, and starred in the melodrama ''Then She Found Me,'' which will premiere at the Palm Springs Fest on Jan. 3

(FROM HOLLYWOOD REPORTER) - Helen Hunt's directorial debut, Then She Found Me, will get its U.S. premiere as the opening-night feature at the 19th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival on Jan. 3. The Emmy- and Oscar-winning actress also stars in the movie, a melodrama about a New York teacher suffering a midlife crisis, and co-wrote the script with Victor Levin and Alice Arlen based on a novel by Elinor Lipman. The cast also includes Bette Midler, Matthew Broderick, and Colin Firth. ThinkFilm will give Found its theatrical release in May. The Palm Springs Fest runs from Jan. 3-14. The full program will be announced on Monday (Dec. 17). (Hollywood Reporter)
