(FROM VARIETY) - A second edition of American Idol's charity event, Idol Gives Back, will air on April 9 at 8 p.m. The two-hour event will feature a slate of guest stars yet to be announced. Last year's event raised $75 million for African and U.S. charities and featured performances by Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson, Annie Lennox, Josh Groban, and Carrie Underwood. Bono and Dave Stewart wrote the song ''American Prayer'' for the special. The next cycle of Fox's American Idol starts Jan. 15 with a two-hour premiere. (Variety)
