In these ultraromantic photographs, Sally Mann shows her three beautiful and often naked children growing up in Virginia. ''Some (of these pictures) are fictions and some are fantastic, but most are of ordinary things every mother has seen,'' Mann writes. Some are also a little precious: These cherubs strike poses with the self-possession of half-pint Calvin Klein models. For all its naturalistic pretensions, Immediate Family derives its drama as much from clever staging as good timing. B+
