Half the Blood of Brooklyn (2007)

EW's GRADE
A-

Details Release Date: Dec 26, 2007; Writer: Charlie Huston; Genres: Fiction, Thriller; Publisher: Del Rey

Manhattan's vampire ecosystem is fragile, with too many bloodsuckers feeding on the same supply. So undead strong-arm Joe Pitt heads to the outer boroughs to keep an Orthodox danger at bay. (Yes, Jewish vamps. Yarmulkes and all.)

Grisliest Death
Some bloke gets decapitated and, for good measure, chopped to bits.
Bottom Line
Charlie Huston and his tenacious hero still have bite: Half the Blood in Brooklyn is just as gutter-level smart as its forebears.
