Since self-releasing their debut, Give 'Em All a Big Fat Lip, in '05, this Athens, Ga., trio has garnered buzz, signed to the influential indie ATO, and recruited a fancy producer, Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith). And three years later, they deliver on the hype with Mission Control. Schnapf adds luster to their garage sound and, in playing up their knack for melody, summons a mix of drum-fueled jams (the title track) tempered by a handful of melancholic ballads (''Sleep Sunshine'').
