As slick documentaries about extreme sports go, Steep — about people who like to ski down ridiculously big mountains not intended for civilian leisure — is pretty average. The athletic footage is kind of cool, while the interviews with athletes about what they feel when they're skiing are kind of damp, made soggier by a musical score that emphasizes the supposedly noble heroics and awesome dangers of the quest. Sorry, bunnies: Gambling one's life in humanitarian service is worthy of hero music. Risking death for a bitchin' ski video calls for some other soundtrack. C+
