As slick documentaries about extreme sports go, Steep about people who like to ski down ridiculously big mountains not intended for civilian leisure is pretty average. The athletic footage is kind of cool, while the interviews with athletes about what they feel when they're skiing are kind of damp, made soggier by a musical score that emphasizes the supposedly noble heroics and awesome dangers of the quest. Sorry, bunnies: Gambling one's life in humanitarian service is worthy of hero music. Risking death for a bitchin' ski video calls for some other soundtrack. C+
