SURPRISE! There is something truly deranged (or do I mean diseased?) about everyone ignoring the fact that David Fincher's Zodiac is a flat-out masterwork that ranks among the top 5 films of the year by the sights of most critics, but it's not even being discussed as a possible Best Picture contender. It's not even in the contention ballpark! Ridiculous! My bold prediction is that the wall of denial will suddenly fall away like a chunk of melting Alaskan ice, and Zodiac will at least be nominated.

OSCAR NIGHT? What Oscar ceremony? They're going to have one? News to me!

PLUG: The great Benicio Del Toro, the Marlon Brando of our generation, deserves a Best Actor nomination for Things We Lost in the Fire like your mother deserves a warm hug when you visit her for Thanksgiving.
