(FROM HOLLYWOOD REPORTER) – Heroes star Hayden Panettiere is in negotiations to join the cast of Fox Atomic's coming-of-age teenage movie I Love You, Beth Cooper, based on Larry Doyle's novel. Chris Columbus is producing through his 1492 Partners and also is in talks to direct. Panettiere would play Beth, the hottest cheerleader at her high school, who gives awkward valedictorian Denis the night of his life after he proclaims his love for her during his commencement speech. Shooting is scheduled to start this spring. Panettiere just wrapped Fireflies in the Garden, which stars Julia Roberts, Ryan Reynolds, and Willem Dafoe. Columbus is next producing Night at the Museum 2. His most recent directorial project was 2005's Rent. (Hollywood Reporter)
