Aspiring medical student Raya (Rutina Wesley) has been attending private school for three years. When her drug-addicted sister dies, Rays must move back to her old, crime-filled neighborhood. The city's Step Monster contest offers a $50,000 prize, which might be Raya's only way out of the city and into college. But to get anywhere close to the cash, she must hold her own in an all-male step group. Step up, Raya!
