Winners Announced at 2008 Sundance Film Festival

This year’s Sundance Film Festival came to a close on Saturday night with an awards ceremony hosted by actor William H. Macy. The winning films were selected by both a panel of jurors as well as the audiences who descended on Park City, Utah for the annual showcase of U.S. and international independent cinema.

THE AUDIENCE AWARD (DRAMATIC)

Fields of Fuel, directed by Josh Tickell

THE WORLD CINEMA JURY PRIZE
Man On Wire (U.K.), directed by James Marsh

THE DIRECTING AWARD (DRAMATIC)
Lance Hammer, for Ballast

THE DIRECTING AWARD (DOCUMENTARY)
Nanette Burstein, for American Teen

The jurors for this year’s Dramatic Competion were actors Marcia Gay Harden, Sandra Oh, and Diego Luna; and directors Mary Harron and Quentin Tarantino.
