This year's TNT/TBS telecast of the Screen Actors Guild Awards delivered the highest ratings since the ceremony first began airing on basic cable in 1998. More than 6.1 million viewers watched on Sunday night (Jan. 27), a 4 percent increase over last year. Some 3.3 million tuned into TNT and another 2.8 watched on TBS. Of that, 1.5 million viewers were in the 18-34 demographic (up 45 percent compared to last year), and 2.9 million fell into the 18-49 demo (a 10 percent year-to-year increase). The SAGs, which out-performed this year's People's Choice Awards (6 million viewers) and Golden Globes newscast (5.8 million), is the only major awards show so far this season to go on with the blessing of the striking Writers Guild of America.
