Messing Joins 'Humboldt Park'

(FROM HOLLYWOOD REPORTER) – Former Will & Grace star Debra Messing has joined the ensemble cast of Overture Films' dramedy Humboldt Park. The actress will play the wife of John Leguizamo's character in the movie, which is about a Latino family from Chicago's rough Humboldt Park neighborhood. In the story, Leguizamo and Messing take a trip back to the husband's family's home. The movie is being directed by Alfredo De Villa (Adrift in Manhattan, Washington Heights) and also stars Freddy Rodruiguez, Jay Hernandez, Alfred Molina, Mercedes Ruehl, Luis Guzman, Melonie Diaz, and Vanessa Ferlito. Shooting is scheduled to start Feb. 13. Messing recently earned a SAG Award nomination for the miniseries The Starter Wife, and she is doing a USA Network series version of the project this summer. She will also appear this fall in Picturehouse's remake of The Women. (Hollywood Reporter)
