It was a lot more fun when Haley Joel Osment saw dead people. In this listless remake of a 2002 Hong Kong thriller, the murky, violent visions that beset blind violinist Sydney Wells (Jessica Alba) after she receives corneal transplants are largely confusing and dull. The actress trembles prettily, but her saintly Sydney mostly just vacillates awkwardly between beatific and terrified, while Parker Posey (as her sister) and Alessandro Nivola (as a therapist) sleepwalk their way to paychecks. It's as if, on the umpteenth Asian-horror Xerox, the ink has run dry. C
