The Jayhawks may be on hiatus, but fans of the country-rockers can't complain: This solo debut, Vagabonds, from their singer-guitarist follows last year's Salvation Blues, a fine offering by ex-member Mark Olson. Here, low-key laments (like the Crosby, Stills & Nash'd ''We'll Get By'') easily compare to the Jayhawks' best work. Exquisite vocal support comes from Rilo Kiley's Jenny Lewis and the Black Crowes' Chris Robinson, who also produces in the classic-rock-drenched manner of someone whose watch stopped around quarter past '73.
