Tomei Joins Aronofsky's 'Wrestler'

(FROM VARIETY) – Marisa Tomei will star opposite Mickey Rourke in Darren Aronofsky's upcoming drama The Wrestler. The story is about an over-the-hill pro-wrestler (Rourke) who quits the business after a heart attack and moves in with a stripper (Tomei) to build a relationship with her son. Aronofsky is helming from a screenplay he wrote with Robert Siegel. Shooting is already underway. Tomei recently co-starred in Sidney Lumet's Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. When she's completed work on The Wrestler she'll move onto a starring role in Top Girls on Broadway. (Variety)
