A squirm-inducing romance about a rich girl (Polley) who shacks up with an older photographer (Rea), Guinevere manages to be both predictable and unbelievable. As wide-eyed Harper, the radiant Polley must pose naked, dance around the loft for her mentor, and listen to his pretentious lectures on jazz. Gina Gershon, meanwhile, has the truly thankless role as one of loverman's former protegees. When Harper finally realizes that others preceded her, she feels nauseated. You'll be way ahead of her. D
