It's doubtful Yanks would now be seeing this idiosyncratic five-year-old British import about four surf-loving blokes (including a shaggy Ewan McGregor) if not for the growing celebrity of Zeta-Jones, who costars as the neglected girlfriend of Cornwall's local wave-riding legend (Pertwee), an overgrown kid facing 30. Beyond the unspectacular surfing and improbable monster waves, though, bobs a beguiling and warmhearted, if roughly constructed, comedy. B-
